Is it appropriate to send flowers to a client who has cancer?

We found out from her colleague that she has cancer. I know sometimes people want to have their health problems remain private. We feel terribly sad for her and want to send her flowers. Is that appropriate?
Is there something else we can send for someone who just underwent surgery for breast cancer?

Probably a nice plant (in case she’s allergic to flowers) in a basket would be nice along with a little card just saying you are thinking of her..being a client is one thing but being a client to a company with people that truly care about you not only as just a client but as a person is something you don’t see alot of & I personally think the gesture would be nice. Some people don’t want private stuff to be known yet others are okay to have people know so there is the opportunity for the person with cancer to talk about it if they wish .. If she doesn’t want it known you can just tell her someone mentioned she had been under the weather & flowers/plant were sent to let her know you were thinking of her…if she is open about having cancer surgery when she acknowledges the plant you can lend a sympathetic ear…almost everyone knows someone that is battling cancer…the plant is a better choice….flowers die quickly, plants will flourish

If it’s generally known that your client had to go into the hospital for surgery, sending flowers or even a small plant she can take home with her would be a nice gesture.

I read somewhere that nurses like candy. You could also buy her some good-quality, individually-wrapped candy to present to the floor nursing staff. I think they’d appreciate that.
