    In the end the scallops worked if I put the 6dc into the 2dc units, and a slip stitch into the ch1 spaces. But I still didn’t think the flower had enough petals, so I went back and added five more chains to the foundation chain row, so there were 22 instead of the 17 she recommended. That gave me nine petals instead of six, and they all worked out evenly.

    I tried following the directions, but mine didn’t turn out looking anything like this. The first row of dc went just like yours, but the second row with 6dc in each ch1 space didn’t have the pretty scalloped look that your video did. Plus, at 3:45 when you skipped ahead to show the finished second row, I notice there are spaces betwen the 2dc units in the first row. I think you skipped a step where you sc into those 2dc units, before beginning the next group of 6dc in the next ch1 space.

    thanks for the reply. I will try that out and see how it looks, but i was experimenting and i found that if you crochet a single stitch between the pedals, it turns out really nice.

    I had the same problem, what I did was on every 6th double crochet I made it very tight and it seamed to work for me. Hope that helps.
