What are some tips to help my fresh flowers last longer?

I have just got a bunch of tulips ♥ is there anything I can do to make them last longer?

    Put a few copper cents in there,
    Cut the end in a til, not straight, but sideways,
    Change the water.

    With a very sharp knife, cut an inch or so off the stems underwater. (Avoids crushing the stem and closing it up, also lets the fresh cut suck up more water).
    Change the water every day and drop an aspirin in it. (Don’t know what it does but it works).

    Add alittle bit of bleach in the water, and a teaspoon of sugar.

    Tulips don’t last that long anyway, but I have found adding a tablespoon of bleach to any flower water seems to make them last longer in general. Worth a try!
