fresh flowers and cake?

I want to add some fresh flowers to a cake I made… how would I go about doing this? Do you have to wrap the stems in a food safe product? what is this product? or is this a bad idea all together?

Have you thought of making sugarpaste flowers. if not go to a Cake confectioners and buy them there.

You need organic edible flowers. Check at Whole Foods Market.

i have decorated many of my cakes with fresh flowers…. some include marigolds, pansies, mums, roses, mint, nasturtium, rose mary stems, holly( around the base)

i never wrapped the stems… i just sprinkles or decorated them on the cake… just remove before eating
