What’s a reasonable price for flower delivery?

I’m planning to send flowers to my friend for her birthday but it’s my first time so I’m not sure how much is reasonable. Does anyone know cheap sites for flower delivery?

Proflowers’ flowers are sent in a box by Fedex, so the recipient will have to arrange them. They are inexpensive, though.

If you want an arranged flower bouquet, you can order from a national floral provider, such as 1-800-flowers or FTD, but remember that they are just middlemen. They will transfer your order to a local florist for fulfillment, earning a referral commission in the process. Because the florist doesn’t get the full amount of what you paid, your final arrangement will be smaller.

So your best bet is to search for a local florist using Google/Yahoo local and contact them directly without going through a middleman. Just type in "florist in (city) (state)." Inconvenient, but you will get a better value this way.

As to the price range, $30-40 plus delivery + tax would be the most popular choice in our area (Long Island NY). In rural area, the price will be cheaper.

I’ve always had good luck with Pro Flowers. How much you pay depends on which arrangement you choose. They have a huge selection. Hope this helps.
