because they’re not home during the day to receive them and you can’t leave flowers outside. maybe they want to keep and enjoy them at work – flowers don’t travel well. maybe they want to share the beauty with their friends. my 2nd hubby used to send flowers to me at work so the other men would know i was appreciated.
