On March 28, 2008 some flowers were delivered in this van to FDA Commissioner, Dr. Andrew Von Eschenbach. The flowers were a reminder of the FDA’s failure to adhere to an overwhelming recommendation to approve Provenge for end stage prostate cancer (17-0 on safety and 13-4 on the basis of the Congressionally mandated substantial evidence of efficacy) by its own Advisory Committee. The flowers were also meant to call attention to the blatant conflicts of interest of Drs. Scher and Hussain, which have yet to be fully investigated.
