The word mai should be a dark color but I can’t choose.I was thinking the flower should be purple but I don’t want it to be too purpleish becuase the flower takes up most of the room.
hey that’s my birth month! I’d pick (pine tree) green for the word (it’s a spring color), and to me the flower for the month is daisy so the color would be mainly white and that might be a problem if you’re working on a white background. then I’d go for lilac, like the cuckoo-flower that you see in this month (at least in my country, but I live near France so it’s probably the same there).

well since mai is May, think of colours you would think of in spring. Green, bright yellows and oranges, purple would work too.
References :
You could have the word be in a burgundy or dark red and have the flower be in a lighter more vibrant purple. Or have a reddish purple flower and have strong contrast with the word being a bluish green.
References :
No problem using purple for the word "Mai", and then maybe use a picture of a lavender coloured flower like lisianthus, lilac, rose, larkspur or just make up a flower and colour it lavender. Maybe do some shading in purple to tie the two together. Another thought for that month is to have the word spelled out in yellow and have a picture of a yellow daisy or a white one outlined in yellow. Either way, the colours are suitable for the month. Hope this works out for you!
