    Yes,… translated …
Yes,… translated into english. But ppl in bible didnt speak english. So.. the translators chooses the appropraite wordings. So.. same with adieu.

    I’m LDS and thought …
I’m LDS and thought this was hilarious.

  3. harmbarm says:

    No, I am pretty …
No, I am pretty sure the catholic church translated it like 600 years ago.

  4. Mysterwright says:

    Yeah, that’s why …
Yeah, that’s why Joseph Smith had his head cut off. j/k Aren’t Mormons really Conquistadors kicked from Spain for claiming Jewish when even Jews don’t talk about faith because its 1.) nobody’s business and 2.) part of a covenant going all the way back to Bethlehem and the Holy Roman Empire? I mean England and Pilgrims make sense because Britain is presumably where Jesus lived between ages 12 and 33.

    You know as a …
You know as a Latter-day Saint I just ignore all that now. People that go on attacking others online on a Cheers comedy clip on things they know nothing of themselves outside of what they read on the internet and accept it as truth- something is not working upstairs. After spending time with and watching them and spending time with good listeners and geniunely friendly people, I can tell there’s a serious reality/fantasy disconnect going on that blinds their perception. I don’t even try now.

You know as a Latter-day Saint, I just ignore those comments now. Honestly, they would believe it’s wrong if they saw it happening to them, but those vindictive people who have a misguided and moralistic self-righteous attitude that allows them to have a double standard really have a fantasy/reality disconnect that blinds them to obvious. After having spent a lot of time around them and others who are good listeners and genuinely friendly people, I can see something isn’t working upstairs.

RE: Jacob 7:27… I am only 14, but… just one question, how come the Bible is in English? English didn’t exist in Biblical time. So, I guess it’s something to do with translating to our language to makes sense. That adieu has no English equivalent. So.. Joseph Smith chose that word to match the original meaning. I am not LDS and I’m 14.

    It’s up to the …
It’s up to the person making the claim to provide proof, not the other way around. God is a hypothesis, not even a theory.

Regarding DNA, well, since you’re obviously ignorant on the subject. It cannot be destroyed. In fact, that’s the only reason were sure we’re all out of Africa. You proved my point.

All humans share common genetic ancestry to Africa, but not all Amerindians share a common ancestry with modern Jews. This is a cold hard fact.

DNA does not lie, but founders of cults do.

    This is an argument …
This is an argument based on arrogance and ignorance. In what way do any of the organized christian churches teach something different from what Jesus taught. you yourself are a hypocrite, Judge not lest ye be jugded…sound familiar, looks like you are also teaching something different from Jesus because you are judgeing. Remove the beam from your eye before you remove the mote from someone elses.

  12. jim1bob12001 says:

    No facts to support …
No facts to support either object in this argument, just because you cant prove there is a God, doesnt mean that he doesnt exist. The majority of scientific theory is based on just that, things that we see some evidence for but cannot prove. Also it is obviously untrue that DNA cannot be destroyed, its not made of adamantine or anything, but you also cant discard it just because DNA is different. All humans supposedly date back to africa, yet most whites share no DNA in common with them.

    ******** read …
******** read Galatians 1:8 it will set you free from mormonism,,,,, ……..Matthew 22: 24-34 shows mormons teach something other than what Jesus directly explained to the pharasies,,

  15. Hermetiqa says:

    It’s not Philosophy …
It’s not Philosophy, it’s philosophy’s retarded little cousin, Religion.

  16. Hermetiqa says:

    DNA cannot be …
DNA cannot be destroyed, and since modern Jewry and Modern Amerindians share NO COMMON ANCESTORS from the alleged time of the Lost Tribes’ disappearance, one must conclude that Joseph Smith was wrong.

If you don’t understand basic genetics then you shouldn’t speak on the subject.

Also, since there’s probably no God, it’s clear to see that Smith was a liar from the start.

  17. brigmahf says:

    DNA tests could be …
DNA tests could be imperfect. Every time a new technology is released, all the old data is replaced with new, more accurate data.
Who’s to say DNA testing won’t be next?
And what about DNA mixing with, say, the Lost Tribes that came across the land bridge, settling from Alaska on over? We are taught that there is a mix in blood there. Assuming that DNA from Lehi’s descendants mixed with theirs, and generations of people were destroyed, then original ancestral DNA could be nearly undetectable.

    GUYS this is a …
GUYS this is a comedy clip .. why has it turned into a philosophical discussion lol

  19. moparmonster1965 says:

    Agreed, but even an …
Agreed, but even an ex-Mormon or two has clarified a few things for me. You never know what you might have of value to the discussion until it comes up.

  20. FourtyNinerFan89 says:

    Well, it would be …
Well, it would be better if somebody who is mormon to do it…but if I come across it I will definatley say something if it’s wrong haha

  21. moparmonster1965 says:

    Like I said, I’m …
Like I said, I’m not here to debate the existance of God, but I’ll tell you what, since I do appreciate your imput, and you, being an ex-Mormon, you can watch my posts for honesty, clarity, and an accurate representation of the church.

    Is that fair?

  22. FourtyNinerFan89 says:

This is true, but a …
This is true, but a lot of things should be cleared about most religions too.
haha Wiccan? I bet that does…my brother is just now getting into that.

  23. moparmonster1965 says:

    Fair enough; I’m …
Fair enough; I’m not going to debate you on the existance of God because I have my hands full with Mormonism right now. So you’re agnostic, that’s fine. My mom’s Wiccan, which drives me nuts.

I’m usually respectful and I’ve never said that Mormons ought to be rounded up and gassed or executed. That said, certain things need to be clarified about Mormon doctrine and history.

  24. FourtyNinerFan89 says:

    I just believe all …
I just believe all religions come down to two main points: Love your god and love your neighbor. To me the Mormons do that the best out of any church I have been too…and i’ve been to a lot seeking truth. I decided on my own that Jesus Christ could not have existed in the way the bible leads. I still believe in some sort of God though…just not in the way any religion portrays.
Also, you have a good point: If mormons come to your door you should be able to refute them in a public forum.

  25. moparmonster1965 says:

    Unfortunately, you …
Unfortunately, you appear to be the victim of LDS-burnout; your indoctrination put you in a position that when you left the church, their all-or-nothing stance left no room for there being a real god in your world-view. That’s too bad. I was the same way with Catholicism and it sucks.

It’s not the BOM itself, which is equal to Mein Kampf, it’s the church’s attitude about it. The missionaries knock on my door to tell me that I’m wrong and I’m returning the favor.
