Canvas Shoulder Bags in the Military

These nifty little bags actually started in the military; they were short and snuggled against the side of the person carrying it. They were mainly used be carriers to get important messages to the front lines. Actually shoulder bags were used back in the Roman days and have evolved to todays method of using them for bicycle messengers. If you look at war pictures you will surely see someone that has the original canvas shoulder bags, full of important papers and documents. Of course they were not as fancy as the ones today but they did serve a purpose back then. And they were not pretty back then, not at all, they were made to fulfill a purpose and that was it.
