Do they throw them away or do they do something cool with them. A few years back they made potpourri out of them and sold it. Anyone know what they do with them now?

Many of the covered areas on the floats are with petals that have been pulled off a bloom and each glued separately. They park them in an area that’s like a big open field and charge $7 to come and walk around them and see them up close.

It may be that they make to ones they can get off info potpourri or perhaps they sell them to a company that makes it. This way they can recoup some of the enormous costs involved in the parade. The city has tons of trash to pick up after the parade and have extra police to direct traffic as it is a super traffic jamb in Pasadena, partly due to the parade and partly due to the football game at the stadium. They also set up sections of bleachers in certain areas along the parade route and sell tickets for seats at some. Homes along the route rent out their front yard and/or parkway areas. People camp out days beforehand. I like the potpourri idea and hope they do that so as not to waste so many beautiful blooms. On many floats, where you see a panel of complete blooms, they re often cut off the stem completely or on a very short stem, depending on how they are shaping things

If you get there, it’s really worth seeing them after the parade. You get to see the incredible hand-work it takes to crete them.

I am aware of reasons & how human twins come in existence. Rose was indeed a surprise which no one in my contact has ever seen. Any witness to such phenomenon?

It’s being housed by a fairie.

I have several bushes and only two have flowered this year, I have fed them regularly and kept them watered. I must add I live in Sweden and we had a really severe winter which killed off lots of my shrubs. The roses did survive but haven’t flowered.
Yes they are all in the garden, not in pots. It has been very warm here, so cannot see any reason for the lack of roses.

Roses need lots of heat from the sun. Could it be that you are having mild weather?

Are they in large containers? If so, they will only bloom for two or three years and then need to be put into the ground or discard and buy new bushes.

Make sure you are feeding with a rose fertilizer.

They shrivel up to almost nothing in about a day. I don’t waste my time and I have a 40 foot hedge and several other individual shrubs throughout my gardens. If it bothers you, pickem up. I would think you would rather do other things.

A florist determined that rose bushes produced a normal distribution of flowers with a mean of 24 flowers per bush and a standard deviation of 3. If there are 400 rose bushes, then the number of bushes that would have more than 30 flowers is:
A. 2
B. 9
C. 30
D. 54

Note that the probability that a rose bush has more than 30 flowers is:
P(x ≥ 30) = P(z ≥ (30 – 24)/3), since z = (x – u)/σ
= P(z ≥ 2)
= P(z ≤ -2), by symmetry of the bell curve
= 0.0228 from z-tables (I used this one: http://lilt.ilstu.edu/dasacke/eco148/ztable.htm )

Therefore, 0.0228*400 = 9 (to the nearest integer) bushes have more than 30 flowers.

I hope this helps!

I dont see any issues as long as you have enough time, or you could buy themin the morning and keep them some place cool, such as frigerator, cooler, insulated bag, ect. Get some that have not quite bloomed yet.
