How are flowers typically delivered to a typical church wedding?

Posted by admin on March 18th, 2010 and filed under flowers delivered | 7 Comments »

I am writing a piece of fiction and I would like to know. Are they wrapped a certain way? Are they stored? How soon before the ceremony begins? Stuff like that. I would appreciate any light anyone could shed.

"Typically" they are delivered in the florist’s van and are sitting in cardboard boxes to protect them from falling over during transport. They are made to specifications at the shop, then any touch-ups can be done on site at the venue. Delivery time depends on how many weddings that particular florist has to deliver that day. If it’s several, the florist plans the route to reach every church as easy as possible instead of driving back and forth across an area. Hopefully there will be a refrigerator that can keep the flowers cool until they are needed.

There is no "typical" because every florist, city, town, schedule and wedding is different. They florist works to make any situation happen. So write on, and make it work for your situation~

I want have get well flowers delivered to a friend in Italy on Dec 12 but am on a tight budget, suggestions?

Posted by admin on March 16th, 2010 and filed under flowers delivered | 4 Comments »

My friend lives in Milan and is going in for some minor surgery on Tuesday, Dec. 12th. I would like to have flowers delivered, but all the florists I’ve searched online are extremely expensive, and I just can’t afford that. I just want something small and simple, and under $30. And more than just one single rose. :-P I’d appreciate some suggestions or ideas. Thanks! :-)

This is a link for Interflora, the most renowned and reliable here in Italy (where there are a lot of honest persons…!!!)
hhttp://www.interflora.co.uk/catalog/category.xml?category_id=95;pcid1=23 .
They have 2 items at US$ 37,50 that’s not too far from yr budget.
Be aware that in Italian hospitals if the patient is a married female she is registered under her maiden name.
I hope this helps.

what to get parents for their 30th anniversary, besides flowers and nothing too expensive and delivered?

Posted by admin on March 14th, 2010 and filed under flowers delivered | 10 Comments »

my sister is getting flower delivered, i am at university and wanna spend about 30 pounds max and want to get them something different and hopefully delivered. Please help, thanks.

My son bought us tickets to proms in the park last year and flower show tickets this year. A fabulous treat that I would not have bought myself, he spent around £30. Why not get them tickets to go somewhere different that they would enjoy – theatre, musical, football match, opera or magazine subscription.
You can order on line and have them delivered.

Do men appreciate getting flowers delivered, or can you suggest another idea?

Posted by admin on March 10th, 2010 and filed under flowers delivered | 5 Comments »

My boyfriend lives a long way away, I want to do something sweet for him today, he has been having a bad day. Would it be strange to send him flowers, or do men appreciate them? What other ideas do you have?

Some guys do, but others like mine find it a useless waste of cash. If he’s a romantic guy who likes gifts and little tidbits that remind his space of you, then he may enjoy the flowers. But if he’s a practical guy who doesn’t really care for presents unless he chose it himself and he could use it, then sending him flowers might become a disappointing experience.

If I were you, I’d be more likely to send him a nice parcel with stuff he could use. Get a nice basket (or box) and fill it with a smiley face mug, box of hot chocolate sachets, toaster tarts, food bars, instant ramen, and a cute framed couple photo. You can easily pick these up as you do the groceries! That would light up the day of most guys even when they’re not a giftsy person, and definitely has a greater chance of success than flowers.

Your man must be lucky to have such a thoughtful girlfriend like you.

Welcome to Russonflowers.com. Enjoy, as Russ Phillip Jr. revisits creating floating flower arrangements and vasing.

This week Russ creates beautiful arrangements using a small and a 9″ lotus bowl with clear stone accents.

He features Stargazer Lillies, Asiatic Lillies, Spider Mums and Daisies.

You can create these simple arrangements using single, multiples of the same or mixed flowers.

Russ answers the following questions on the show today:

1) what types of flowers are edible?
2) is steve single?
3) what is the average cost of flowers for a wedding?
4) why are you in to flowers so much?
5) do you ever personally deliver flowers?

Green tip:
After your wedding, make a plan to have the flowers delivered to a nursing home or a hospital instead of throwing them out.
